Salon91 contemporary art collection is a boutique gallery and art consultation service conveniently located in Kloof Street, Cape Town. The gallery showcases works by emerging, as well as established contemporary artists of all disciplines, and is passionate about developing a new brand of local talent. The gallery is also committed to bridging the gap between fine arts and design by introducing selected products and exhibitions by designers from diverse fields into our gallery portfolio. Our exhibitions rotate every three to four weeks, keeping things fresh and exciting.
Artists include Lizelle Kruger, Andrew Sutherland, Lourens Joubert, Wessel Snyman, Louis Minnaar, Lara Feldman, Senyol, Jaco Haasbroek, Lucinda Mudge, Leonora van Staden, Nastasha Norman, Francois van Reenen, David Scadden, Niklas Zimmer, Paul Painting, Jane Eppel, Marlise Keith, Jake Aikman, Motelseven, Jade Klara, Abigail Heyneke, Mareliza Nel, Katrine Claassens, Neill Wright, Candice Jezek, Dave Southwood, Lauren Schofield, Emma Cook, Daniel Ting Chong, Gabrielle Raaff and Lorenzo Nassimbeni to mention but a few.
We are named after our physical location, number 91 Kloof Street and the Paris Salon [first official art exhibition of the Academie des Beaux-Arts in Paris, 1725], which is significant not only because we offer exposure to young artists, but also because the French word salon, may be loosely translated to mean “a meeting of like minded people”.
Salon91 strives to be accessible, and to offer a meeting place for like-minded people to engage in cultural activity within a beautiful, yet comfortable space, and to offer its patrons fair prices, as well as friendly & personalized service.
We will gladly assist private collectors, architects, first-time buyers, and corporate clients, alike, in sourcing the perfect artwork for any space or budget. Site visits, framing, viewings of artists’ portfolios, and commissions can also be arranged on request. We are constantly updating our inventory with exciting new submissions…
